This spring, all 7th-grade students will participate in the state-mandated "Healthy Choices, Relationships, and Lifestyles" curriculum during their Science and P.E. classes.

We invite you to learn more about the curriculum and how it will be presented.

Curriculum & Philosophy

The district staff and teachers who designed this curriculum were sensitive to the age of our students. We encourage you to use this as an opportunity to have conversations with your child, allowing you to guide them based on your family’s values.

The teachers and District staff that designed this curriculum were sensitive to our community and the age of our students, given the subject matter. Ultimately, this curriculum opens the door for conversations between you and your child, allowing you to guide them based on your family choices and beliefs. 

Dates of Instruction depend on the block your child has class.
 
Science:
1/13/25 or 1/14/25 - 1st day:  Lesson 1- Germs & Viruses & Lesson 2- HIV & AIDS
1/15/25 or 1/16/25 - 2nd  day: Lesson 3- HIV, STIs & Transmission & Lesson 4- Testing, Universal precautions, pregnancy prevention
 
PE:
1/24/25 or 1/27/25 - Relationships and human trafficking & body image and sexual orientation.
1/28/25 or 1/29/25 - Pregnancy
