"As in a theatre, the eyes of men, after a well-graced actor leaves the stage, are idly bent on him that enters next." William Shakespeare

'Last night students in PD1 Advanced Theatre performed 11 short scenes from Shakespearean Plays. Students performed in the open air, just like in Shakespearean times and treated the audience to some wonderful performances.
Everything from Julius Caesar to Romeo and Juliet, King Lear to The Taming of the Shrew. There were monologues from Comedies and Tragedies and the most beautiful open-air atmosphere. As the sun dropped behind the hill and the birds sang their evening chorus, our students performed the Shakespearean text like they'd always known it.
Huge thanks to all the parents, friends and families who came out last night and huddled up under blankets to enjoy the show.
This weekend they will share their work at the DTASC Spring Festival at Monroe High School. They will compete against schools from across Southern California in both the Middles School and JV Divisions. If you see them, tell them to 'Break a Leg!'
