	Come visit our library to find your new favorite book! Can't make it in person? Students have the opportunity to put books on hold HERE using their student Google login. Library Book Policies Students can check out up to 5 books at a time. Books are checked out for 20 school days. While due dates are given, Rio Norte does not charge late fees. Lost or damaged books will be charged a replacement cost. A student ID is required for checkout. Students without an ID can place a book on hold and come back later. Destiny Catalog

Our Destiny Catalog has the most up to date information on what books are available for checkout, reading levels, details, and much more! You can search our library catalog from anywhere by clicking on the Image below:

When you find a book you want, look for the Call number (i.e. FIC ROW)

SUBLOCATION (so you know which area/genre to look in)

To place a book on hold:

Click the "hold" button next to a title you want.

Our staff will pull it aside for you and send you an email when it is ready for pickup.

NOTE: You MUST be logged into Destiny to place a book on hold!

How to log in to Destiny:

To log into your own Destiny account, type in your ID number and 6-digit birthday.

You also have the option to log in using a Google Single Sign-In option.

Do not log in on the library computers.

Accessing E-books from home:

To access e-books from home, you'll need to log into EBSCO. Use this link to get that username and password. EBSCO Login Link

Rio Norte has some a ton of eBooks available for students to read from wherever they are! Check out the video and link below on how to access them.

The public library offers free ebooks through a system called Overdrive. An active public library ID card is needed to access these, to sign up for a library card online on this link http://www.santaclaritalibrary.com/borrowing-information/#_card...or enter your phone number to get a temporary card. 	Audible is Amazon-owned and is a large online audiobook platform. Monthly subscriptions are usually $15 but Audible does have titles available for free
The Junior Library Guild is a commercial book club which helps school libraries build their collections. JLG is offering many free online books to keep students engaged while they are at home and learning. Click on the image to the left, then scroll down and click on “Middle School Stream” for options.
	ABDO publishes books for schools and libraries ABDO’s online digital library is now available for free Use the menu bar at the top to select grade level, genre, etc.
Teen Book Cloud is an online database of free ebooks and audiobooks for middle school and high school students Use the menu bar at the top to access most interesting genres and titles
	Audio Book Cloud is a free online audio book collection for schools and libraries. There is a YA (young adult) category in the menu on the top of the page.
The Fussy Librarian is a website that matches ebooks with people’s individual reading interests. Many of the ebook selections are free and are compatible with Kindle and Nook. Click “free & bargain books” at the top of the site for free options.
	Apple has a large library of books online and many of them can be read for free. Open the book app on any Apple laptop, ipad, or iphone and go to bookstore. Locate the search bar at the top of the page and type “free books”. Search in the “children and teen” category for more options.
Project Gutenberg offers over 60,000 free ebooks, many of which are books with expired copyrights in the public domain. Browse book categories using the menu tab at the top of the page. Titles include classics such as Little Women, The Call of the Wild, Black Beauty, and Frankenstein.
	Loyal Books is a free public domain site containing both audio books and ebooks. Use the menu bar at the left to search by genre.

Your textbook can be accessed through the Google "waffle"

When you click the "waffle", scroll down until you see the HRW Connection logo. You can then sign in using your school Google account. See the video above

Students are issued a set of textbooks at the beginning of the year. If they are lost or damaged, the full replacement cost is below. The ISBN number can be used to order additional books if needed.
